Facsimile Maps & Canvases

Our scanning technologies enable us to scan large and delicate items such as maps and canvases. The discreet scans can then be stitched together electronically and provided as composite scans for electronic dissemination or large format printing.

We can also assist in preserving or restoring the original copy. Map mounting is a preservation technique recommended for large documents, in particular antiquarian maps, sketches, plans, play bills and diagrams.

Documents are mounted on to linen, paper or Japanese tissue to reinforce fragile or brittle paper allowing items to be more securely displayed or stored.
